***UPDATE*** Seeking Applications for Executive Board Positions
2019-08-26The Sherwood Parkdale Minor Hockey Association Executive Board is pleased to announce the following appointments.
Female Director - Aaron Lawlor
Development Coordinator - Alex Dillon
Aaron Lawlor has one or more of his three daughters playing female hockey at the A and AAA levels over the past ten years. Over much of this period, he's either been a Coach, Assistant Coach, or Manager at various levels including Novice, Atom, Bantam, and Midget. As a result, he has a good background/knowledge base of the current structure (SPMHA, Capital District, Central Storm) that exists for females of SPMHA.
Alex Dillon is currently a student at UPEI going into his third year in the Business program. Alex has grown up in the Sherwood community and has played hockey in SPRMA beginning in Novice and finishing in Midget. As a referee, he spends a lot of his time at the rinks, where he is learning more and more about the game. In 2018 Alex attended the OPOE (Officiating Program of Excellence) during the Team Canada U17 selection week in Calgary AB. He was able to spend a week at Hockey Canada. While at this camp, he was able to further his referring knowledge and take in coaching seminars. He was able to learn development strategies as well as coaching strategies that would be very useful in this position. Most recently, he attended the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer AB where he was selected to officiate the men’s ice hockey. Through this experience, he was able to gain experience around the top elite players in Canada. Spending two weeks there, he was able to gain more knowledge about the development of hockey players.
